This Arrowe Park event was my first attempt at planning, so I hope everyone found the courses interesting. It is difficult to plan any course that totally avoids undergrowth because there is so much of it at this time of year (sorry about the mass of brambles at MH on the rootstock). This is annoying but I did the best I could so I hope you enjoyed the variations to the past few years' courses. The courses weren't excessively long but the area isn't all that big so there are restrictions.
Unfortunately there was one control which was stolen, MG on the ruined boathouse by the lake. If this affected anyone's run then I am terribly sorry for this problem, although there isn't much more we can do to prevent it.
Hopefully I will be able to plan more events in the future. I really enjoyed the challenge and would encourage any other orienteers with experience, that haven't yet tried planning, to give it a go at an area they know well. It makes you think about your techniques much more than you might otherwise.
Thank you to Barbara who as usual organised everything efficiently and also to David for planning some interesting course without needing to use second master maps. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Arrowe Park and that not many of you were affected by the stolen control – which seemed to happen very late in the evening.
Finally thank you to the Wirral Country Park Rangers for permission to use the area.
