The event seemed to go well,
thanks especially to the efforts of planner Graham and controller Andrew. The
ranger Pete Schofield and his team did a good job in bringing another set of
toilets on line after the failure of the original ones just before the event,
and were very helpful.
Thanks must go to the many helpers: John Evans, Peter Edwards, Barry Barnes,
Peter Sleigh, Rick and Jonathan Hughes, Alan and Stephen Platts, Liz Jackson,
Mike Bradley, Ian Bell, Marian Padget, Carol Tarr , Ian Bell and of course Barbara
Jones.
Lost Property: One pair of new looking VJ orienteering shoes. Contact Peter Sleigh who will take them to Arrowe Park.
I hope everyone had a top
evening run around Marbury - I can't remember orienteering there myself before,
and I enjoyed visiting the wood and planning those loops. I really did try and
avoid the undergrowth, but obviously there aren't too many different ways of
going around that area.

Andrew and Organiser John, especially for their patience with the Planner's
'just-in-time' way of operating.
After many years of events
at Marbury, there can be few novelties to be discovered in such a relatively
simple area; however one regular competitor confessed to having been surprised
once or twice. Graham's courses seemed to be appreciated, and produced the right
winning times for an evening event. Despite regular updating by several experienced
mappers, the map still shows quirks which I hope can be tidied up before your
next visit.
Many thanks to the various Padgets for their planning and organising contributions,
and to the other helpers on a pleasant (dry) evening.
